Scholarship

Scholarships Available

Scholarship amounts presently offered will be limited to $1,000 per beneficiary per calendar year, currently with no limitation on the number of years an eligible person may draw from the Trust.

Criteria for Applicants

A scholarship applicant must be:

  • a blood relative of Corwin Sr. and Nora Moser, as descended;
  • an adoptee by blood relative;
  • a foster child of blood or adoptee relative (as defined by state or territory in which foster parent gained certification to foster); or
  • a spouse of blood or adoptee relative.

An applicant must also have a high school diploma or equivalent. If an applicant does not, an applicant is eligible for a one-time scholarship for the purpose of acquiring a high school diploma or equivalent.

Given that “Nellie loved knowledge” and acquiring knowledge is a lifelong endeavor, an applicant must be:

  • In a college course of study, carrying a minimum of 6 credit hours, and must have maintained at least a 2.0 grade point average during high school or previous college semesters;
  • In a course of study toward a license, certification or other post-high school training;
  • In an internship, apprentice program or other employment-focused learning program; or
  • In a course of study that will result in a high school diploma or equivalent (one-time only scholarship).

Application Process and Approval

The scholarship application should be completed by the prospective beneficiary (not by any other person unless the beneficiary is physically unable), and submitted to the Trustee(s) who will:

  • Thoroughly review the application for eligibility and accuracy.
  • Approve or deny the application.
  • Communicate the decision to the applicant.
  • Make the appropriate scholarship payment to the beneficiary.

Once a scholarship is given, a period of at least three months must elapse before a post high school student will be eligible for another scholarship in the next calendar year. In other words, a second scholarship application in any given calendar year during the months of October, November, and December cannot be processed until February, March, and April, respectively.

A new application must be completed for each scholarship request.

The Trustee(s) will strive to review, process, and approve applications within 30 days of receipt.
